About
Aura Venckunaite is a designer and educator working at the intersection of architecture, fashion, and material culture. Her practice explores how interdisciplinary strategies— grounded in research and experimentation—can expand the ways we think about and create architecture. She employs unconventional methods and emerging technologies to generate architecture, objects, and immersive environments. Her work has been recognized in both academic and professional contexts.
She is a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), where she teaches architecture, advanced-topic studios, and technology courses. She also lectures in UCLA’s summer architecture program and has previously held positions at the Illinois Institute of Technology and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Aura earned both her Bachelor and Master of Architecture degrees from UIC. Prior to founding her own practice, she worked at several boutique and corporate firms, gaining experience across a broad range of project types and scales.
