The X and the Shimmerfall
The “Shimmerfall” was conceived as a portal into the gallery below the graduate studios. Symbolically, it represented a waterfall of creative work cascading into the space. This water-like flow was captured through a shimmering fringe curtain, which emulated the movement and reflections of water. Surrounding the atrium, the curtain visually linked the creative energy above with the selected works below. At the center, an oversized pedestal in the shape of an "X" was designed to showcase the student project models. This central piece allowed viewers to experience the collective achievements of the graduate students in one unified, immersive display.

* “The X and the Shimmerfall” was developed in collaboration with Andrew Jennings for the “YES” 2024 Year-End Show exhibition at the UIC School of Architecture.
